What we do

The Finer Line (TFL) working with Job Seekers, Providers and Industry to deliver local employment outcomes

Over the past 15 years TFL have been training mentoring, and supporting Hunter jobseekers in gaining sustainable employment. We have achieved this through our individualised and innovative training, our understanding of the labour market and linking with key employers looking for staff. We work closely with providers to support participants in gaining the confidence and skills needed to apply for and gain employment.

Industry Outcomes

The Finer Line work with industry sectors to develop a pathway to
their entry-level job positions through pre-employment training, mentoring and work experience
placement services. Our services include:

Engaging with Workforce Australia Providers and self-referrers to find Jobseekers that meet your current hiring pre-requisites.
Developing and delivering an employer-specific training program covering current induction and compliance requirements
Training fees are no direct cost for employers
There is no obligation to employ if no applicants are deemed suitable
Work experience opportunities – try before you hire

The Finer Line has partnered with Wise Employment and Civil Training Australia to deliver Employability Skills Training across the Hunter Employment Region. We will use our combined experience, networks and commitment to give you training that is relevant, engaging and prepares you to find employment.

Tailored Training Solutions

Our course content will be tailored to your needs taking into account your feedback, our trainers’ expertise and the needs of each group. We achieve this through:

Building Understanding: We’ll speak with you constantly, online and face-to-face, about your needs and the solutions we have to help you achieve your learning and employment goals
Promoting Hope: Positive pathways are core to our approach – helping you with motivational interviews, solution-focused activities, collaboration with natural supports, and effective mentoring and coaching strategies.
Showing Curiosity: Our local region Content Editorial Group meets monthly to further tailor course materials and delivery to meet local area training needs and based on your feedback and ideas. You could be offered the opportunity to participate in this group.
Being Adaptive: As innovation with training delivery occurs, we will share insights using our moderated Facebook group and monthly meetups. Really Engaging Training Great training starts with the training leader.
Harness experience and knowledge: we employ qualified and experienced trainers who can relate to you and effectively manage the course.
Having Fun: There is a certain thrill of excitement that you feel whenever you know you are learning useful, new stuff and making rapid progress.
